Slrn konfiguracja

Slrn jest to konsolowy czytnik grup dyskusyjnych przeznaczony dla systemów Linux/Unix,

Konfiguracja FQDN

Slrn wymaga aby mieć skonfigurowane FQDN (Fully Qualified Domain Name). Konfigurujemy to w pliku /etc/hosts. Ma on wyglądać mniej więcej tak:

127.0.0.1       localhost
127.0.1.1       desktop.twoja.domena      desktop

Jeżeli nie masz własnej domeny to możesz ją uzyskać za darmo z http://www.dyndns.com/services/dns/dyndns/

Wybierz edytor

Slrn nie posiada wbudowanego edytora, ja używam do edycji edytora vim. W openSUSE instalujemy do za pomoca zypper:

sudo zypper in vim

Ustaw zmienna środowiska NNTP

Slrn musi wiedzieć z jakiego serwera ma pobierać wiadomoci grup dyskusyjnych. Do pliku .bashrc dodajemy linijkę:

# Sets the News Server Environment as required by slrn
NNTPSERVER='news.task.gda.pl' && export NNTPSERVER

Zainstaluj slrn:

sudo zypper in slrn

Wysyłanie poczty

Ja używam do tego sendmail

Konfiguracja

Konfigurację slrn możemy przeprowadzić kopiując przykładowy plik konfiguracyjny do katalogu domowego. W openSUSE robimy tak:

cp /usr/share/doc/packages/slrn/slrn.rc $HOME/.slrnrc

Mój plik konfiguracyjny .slrnrc wygląda tak:

% -*- slang -*-

%% This is a sample startup file for the slrn newsreader and meant as a
%% template for your personal startup file; it is not a full reference
%% of slrn's config options -- please see the reference manual for this.

% or your system does not have a proper unique hostname.
